Obituary of Mark Peck, Sr.
Mark Peck Sr., 66, of Selah, Washington passed away on June 3rd 2018. He was born to Walter Peck and Doris Kadlecik in Oakland, CA on May 27th 1952. Mark graduated from Selah High School and received his BA in psychology from Central Washington University.
Mark was a 27-year veteran of the Yakima Police Department, retiring in 2002 with the rank of Sergeant.
Mark’s true love was the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Mark was an avid hunter and fisherman who was happiest at his home on the Yakima river commonly known as “Peck’s Ranch-O Disast-O.”
Mark is survived by his sons Jeremy Peck (wife Amy) of Kennewick and Mark Peck Jr. of Selah; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Matthew Peck of Kennewick; biological mother Doris Kadlecik of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Debbie Strait (husband Randy) of Kennewick and Darlene Peck of Cloverdale, CA; ex-wife Gayle Downey (husband Steve) of Selah; nephews Dylan, Andrew, and Jared Strait; as well as many loving family and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Walter Peck; mother Ide Peck; and son Kristopher Peck.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the active and retired members of the Yakima Police Department. The honor and love the brothers and sisters in blue showed our father truly touched our hearts. The speed and professionalism displayed by the Selah, Yakima Training Center, and Yakima fire departments was exceptional. He will be loved and missed.
