Michael Wayne Rogers, 67, was born June 23, 1951. He passed away July 13, 2018 in Seattle, WA, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was raised in Yakima, and later attended school in Seattle, WA.
He was a loving son, brother and father. Growing up Michael was an avid swimmer and hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and shooting pool. His favorite thing to do was singing, he was a professional singer. He once toured with Rock and Roll Legend himself Little Richard. In fact Little Richard nicknamed him “Prince Michael” while on tour in Las Vegas. Those were the good ole days in the early 70’s. Michael loved his music, going on walks, and his dog Chinook.
He is survived by: mother, Dorothy Watkins; sister, Gwendolyn Watkins; two nieces: Tami Watkins, and Fredricka McCall; one nephew, Fraison McCall; all of Seattle, WA; and uncle, Harold J. Carter of Yakima, WA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Moore Rogers; and son, Michael Wayne Brooks.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Shaw and Sons.
