Obituary of Jackie Benge
Yakima - Jackie “Jack” Benge, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ on November 2, 2018, surrounded by his family members, who loved him most.
Jack was born in Miami, Oklahoma on June 1, 1937, but moved to Yakima, WA. with his family in 1947. He met the love of his life, his wife, Lois Benge (Payne) in 1954. Jack joined the Air Force in 1955, when he was stationed in Korea and severed his country for 5 years. Jack worked many different professions, but he retired from the Wapato Irrigation Project in 1996.
Jack enjoyed many different things during his life time, such as hunting, fishing, scuba diving, boating, swimming, 4-wheeling, farming, loved traveling and the mountains, but most of all he loved spending time with the people he loved the most, his family and friends.
Jack will be mostly remembered for his funny sense of humor, his orneriness, but most of all for the love he had for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but he will continue to live and be loved within our hearts.
Jack is survived by his wife, Lois Benge of 62 years, his children, Jimmy (Barbara) Benge, Wade Benge, Cristy (Ray) Benge-Birke and Donald (Patty) Benge. His brothers, Buck (Dorothy) Benge and Rodney Epps, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many family friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, JB and Jim Benge, sisters, Leta Setterlee and Rosemary Gould and his grandson, RJ Benge.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Terrace Heights Cemetery for a grave side service, to be followed by a reception at Shaw and Sons located at 201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA.
