Obituary of Evelyn "June" (Roberson) Creamer
Evelyn June (Roberson) Creamer, age 94, passed away on March 8, 2019 at Riverview Manor in Selah, WA. Evelyn, who went by June to friends and family, was born on August 1, 1924 in Hill City, SD to Roy and Mary (Carl) Roberson.
The family relocated to the Pacific Northwest eventually settling in Yakima, WA. June attended Yakima High School for a time and quit school to work in agriculture to help support the family.
June also worked at Boeing during WWII and was proud of being a “Rosey the Riveter.” She worked at Del Monte in Yakima and Toppenish prior to her retirement.
She met Alvin Creamer in Tacoma, WA during World War II while he was on leave from the Navy. They married in Tacoma on January 10, 1946.
June and Alvin lived in the Tacoma area, Yakima, and Alda, NE., while they were adding to their family. They moved to Yakima in 1973 following Alvin’s retirement. June moved to Riverview Manor in May of 2018.
June is preceded in death by her husband Alvin, sons Donald and James, parents Roy and Mary Roberson, and siblings Ila, Cecil, Maud, Bill, Roy, Troy and Viola.
She is survived by her son Roy Creamer and daughter Sharon (Lonnie) Payne; eight grandchildren John, Roy Jr., Patrick, June, Shannon, Skyler, Sarah, and Kelly; twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her unconditional love, prayers, and beautiful smile will be missed by her family. She was the best mom and grandma that anyone could ever have.
View will be offered Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. in Shaw & Sons Chapel, 201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA, and concluding at West Hills Memorial Park.
