Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors
Our beautiful sister, Rhonda Kay Calfrobe (Peters) joined our parents in heaven Saturday, May 18th, 2019. Rhonda was very proud to be a Native American woman. Her Blackfeet name was “Meadow Lark,” which suited her perfectly. Rhonda always rose above any drama. Her favorite quote was “Water off a duck’s back,” and that was how she lived her life. She never held a grudge, she has no enemies. She was truly loved by everyone, and will be missed every day. When Ronda was born, Dad wanted a boy but was happy to have his baby girl. He nick-named her “Ronnie Bum.” Dad taught her to box at a very young age. At six years old Rhonda and Dad were boxing, when Rhonda threw a right hook and knocked Dad through our glass door! Lol. (A skill Rhonda kept sharp!) Rhonda was a lover of all animals especially horses. She rode her horse “Chips” in play-days, and also barrel raced at local rodeos. She was also a member of 4H. She loved riding with neighborhood friends and family. Rhonda enjoyed watching football while cheering her favorite team on “The Green Bay Packers.” She also loved camping, fishing, softball, playing pool and darts to name a few.
Each holiday dinner you could count on Rhonda bringing an “extra guest.” When she found out that someone had no place to go she would bring them home. It’s been said that the “Calfrobe girls travel in packs.” We are all each other’s best friends; Vicki Jo (Mike) Weiler, Julie, Cindy (Ed) Hartigan, Mary Robinson, and George (Nikki) Calfrobe. Rhonda loved and was very proud of her three sons, Erik Louis Hallingstad, Joseph Daniel Peters (Joey), and Nathan Allen Peters (Nate). She also loved and adored her seven grandchildren, Erik Louis Hallingstad, Leilani Hallingstad, Elijah Hallingstad, Madison Peters, James Peters, Nathan Peters Jr., and Natalie Peters. Preceded in death by her parents George and Ginger Calfrobe, her infant son Michael Anthony and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. We will miss your beautiful smile and giving heart… always! We would like to extend our warmest thank you’s to all our family and friends. Funeral services will be on Friday May 31st 2019 at Shaw and Sons, 201 N. 2nd St., Yakima, WA 98901. David Roberts will be officiating services. Please join our family from 1-4 pm at VFW, 118 S. 5th Ave., Yakima, WA 98901. Condolences may be left at www.shawandsons.com.
