Obituary of Fern Morhous
Fern Marie Morhous passed away on April 7, 2018, at age 95, in Yakima, WA. She was born July 4, 1922, to Oscar Leroy Blake and Clara Etta (Kendrick) Blake in Chugwater, Wyoming. At age one her family moved to Stockville, Nebraska. After 12 years, the family moved to St. Maries, Idaho and later to Olympia, WA, where she graduated from Olympia High School in 1941, and went to work for the State of Washington, Dept. of Licenses and Dept. of Labor & Industries. Fern met and married Donald M. Morhous on June 3, 1946, and moved to Yakima, WA.
Fern’s favorite things were family get-togethers, outdoors and taking her children on picnics, vacations and trips – especially trips to Long Beach, Washington. Family was everything to her.
She is survived by her three children: Michael James Morhous, Vikki Susan Trenkenschuh (Dennis), and Tracy Allen Morhous; four grandchildren: Jennifer Martinez (John), Ian Morhous (Angela), Daniel Trenkenschuh (Jamie), and Sarah Parker (Mike); and nine great grandchildren; and one sister: Twila Lenhart.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima. Burial will follow at Tahoma Cemetery.
