Obituary of Martha Wharton
Martha Siekawitch Wharton, 99, died April 26, 2018, at Cottage in the Meadow. She was born February 2, 1919, in Saskatchewan, Regina, Canada, to Phillip and Frances Siekawitch. She attended St. Paul’s school in Yakima. Martha received her US citizenship along with her 5 siblings.
Martha met and married John Wharton and they had 2 daughters, Virginia Foland and Little Delorse, and 1 son, Phillip Wharton. John passed away in 1973. Martha and Tom Taylor were together for 48 years before his passing in 2011. She lived in Union Gap for many years and was a member of VFW Post 395 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving family are daughter Virginia Foland, son Phillip Wharton; 4 grandkids, 6 great grandkids, and 2 great, great grandkids. Preceding her in death are her daughter Little Delorse; parents Phillip and Frances Siekawitch; 12 brothers and sisters: Johnny, Rudy, Clarence, Benny, Art, Katie, Millie, Frances, Helen, Ethel, Shirley.
